There have been over 85 species of birds sighted. We are pretty sure more wild fowl than on any other Orcas Island Lodging or any other San Juan Islands Lodging or any other vacation rental. Also stop at our little 1 acre fenced vegetable and flower garden 

which is open to you as a guest of Maggie's to pick flowers and vegetables for your meals while you are staying at Maggie's. 

Or hike through our fruit orchards or wild Christmas tree farm and pick fruit and berries [in season] to eat along the way. Or just hike around any part of our Deer Harbor Lagoon Wildlife Preserve. The most diverse private wildlife preserve on Orcas Island.

Whether you like to cook your own crab, barbeque your own salmon, steaks or like to cook hot dogs over the open fire you will like the west side of Maggie's outdoor cooking area and campfire pit. Perhaps you are preparing an anniversary dinner or hosting a small party or wedding reception or rehearsal dinner. There is enough room in our kitchen for many cooks and helpers. 

With four sinks spread over three separate areas there is plenty room to prepare a festive gourmet meal. 

Serve on the east deck, the west yard picnic area, or the dining room all with spectacular water views.
